INSTRUCTION

Cut Piece

“Performer sits on stage with a pair of scissors in front of [her]. It is announced that members of the audience may come on stage—one at a time—to cut a piece of the performer’s clothing to take with them. Performer remains motionless throughout the piece. Piece ends at the performer’s option.”

「パフォーマーは、舞台に座り、自分の前にハサミを置いています。観客の皆様は、1人ずつ、舞台に上がり、パフォーマーの衣服から一部を切り取って持ち帰ることができるとアナウンスされます。パフォーマーは全体を通じて動きません。パフォーマンスはパフォーマーの選択によって終了します。」

STORY

As part of the exhibition "Grapefruit: Yoko Ono in 1964" celebrating the 40th anniversary of the publication of Grapefruit, I was invited to reenact Yoko Ono's iconic work Cut Piece.
