The title of this piece, Salt of the Earth, is drawn from the Bible, specifically from the Gospel of Matthew 5:13, symbolizing the Christian teaching to describe someone who is down-to-earth, sincere, and genuine. Invited to perform at a performance festival held in Salt Lake City, Utah, this city being the holy land of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism), I saw this opportunity as a chance to explore religion, my own faith, and my sense of values in life  through my work. 

Inspired by the original meaning of the New Testament and the literal interpretation of the word "Salt" in the name "Salt Lake City," my performance involved remaining still inside an installation while visitors could observe me sweating. This portrayal aimed to evoke contemplation on themes of endurance, purity, and the essence of being grounded.
